With a reputation for bringing many a chocolate-lover’s to their knees; this rich and molten cake is a classic French dessert that will please any palate.



“Fondant” is a French word for “melting” due to its warm, liquid center. It is also known as a Molten Chocolate Cake, Lava Cake or Chocolate Moelleux.

This Rich and fudgy Chocolate Fondant, come together with 5 simple ingredients. This easy dessert can be prepared ahead of time and baked just 10 minutes prior to serving! This recipe never fails to impresses.

NOTES:

Its all about the timing.........

  1. The baking time of the Chocolate Fondant differs from oven to oven. Making one extra for testing purposes can take the pressure off deciding exactly when to remove the fondants from the oven

  2. If you're serving your chocolate fondants in the ramekins, rather than turning them out, serve them straight away. The dishes will remain hot once removed from the oven, continuing to cook your fondants so you run the risk of losing your oozing middle if you wait too long.

  3. Chocolate fondants can be prepared in advance but will need a little extra time to cook if the mixture is fridge cold when it goes into the oven.
